Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

This program assists eleigible low-income households with their heating and cooling energy costs, bill payment assistance, energy crisis assistance, weatherization and energy-related home repairs.

Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIWAP)

This program may be able to help with a one-time payment for water and/or wastewater (sewer) bill from November - September. The maximum amount possible is $750.


 

Liberty Street Sheet

 

This is a resource that is updated quarterly by the Kansas City Public Library and provides a number of local resources for food, shelter, clothing, etc.


 

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

 

Parents of children birth- 5 can sign their child up to receive a free monthly book. 


 

Essential Families

 

Helps bridge the digital divide by providing free laptops, virtual workforce training, and virtual home visits to families in need.


 

Sleepyhead Beds

 

This non profit can help families in need secure beds and bedding for the members of the household.


 

Happy Bottoms

 

A wonderful resource to help provide diapers and wipes to families with new babies.

This resource can provide furniture for a new place.


 

Iris

 

IRIS is a low-cost ride option for transportation between different parts of Kansas City. To book a ride, just head over the app and schedule the service. You can ride anywhere in the KC metro for as little as $4.00/person.


 

Legal Aid

 

Clients can apply for pro-bono legal help and advice.



True Light Family Resource Center

Located within the community on 31st street this organization offers various supports to families in need, including; free clothes, hygiene supplies, diapers, sack lunches, emergency assistance and a women’s day shelter. 


Connections to Success

This resource can help with job interview preparation, resume writing and getting some clothes to look and feel your best self as you look for/begin work. 


KC Ministry Mother's Closet

This organization offers various pop ups throughout the community where mothers can receive free clothing for themselves and their children.


The Family Conservancy

Provides a variety of education and mental health services for families with early learners, this can also be a helpful resource for child care teacher training events. 


Catholic Charities

This organization can provide various different types of support and advocacy services.


Synergy Services

Synergy Services offers a variety of support for survivors of Domestic Violence. Services include shelter, case management, counseling and legal advocacy.
