Enjoy the tour and we look forward to seeing you next Sunday morning at 10:45. If you have any questions, please call the church office at 816-461-0302 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is the view from Main Street. You drive in on the North side (the left in the picture) and drive out the South side (right). There is handicapped parking in all three areas of the lot: near the North door, the South door and in the large parking lot at the back.
This is the main parking area in the rear of the church. This is where most people park.
This is the entrance that most people use. There are a few steps, though, so if you can’t navigate the stairs, please use one of the other two handicapped-accessible parking spaces at either side of the church where there are no stairs. The building is all on one level.
Just inside the door to your right you will find a coat room to hang your coat or jacket. There will almost always be a greeter or two here to welcome you.
There is a long hall straight ahead to the sanctuary. The Men’s Room is on your left side of this hallway. There are lots of rooms down this hall. The Fellowship Hall is on your right side about halfway down the hall. We’ll come back here after church for coffee and punch (and sometimes cookies!).
A bulletin board on the left will let you know all the latest happenings for the month.
The Nursery is on your left hand side. You are always welcome to use the Nursery or bring your child into church with you. We love the sound of babies, honest! A handicapped accesible restroom is on the left next to the nursery. The Ladies’ Room is on your right hand side.
Next you will come to the Narthex. On Sunday morning you will always find someone there greeting you and handing out the morning bulletins.
Please come inside the sanctuary and have a seat. Worship begins at 10:45. What happens during the Worship Service? Here is a link to a page that will give you a glimpse of a sample bulletin. That sample bulletin will lead you through the service including when to sit or stand. The pastor leads the worship service with the liturgist (a member of the congregation that stands at the lectern and reads some parts of the service). Music is provided by our incredibly talented and fun pianist/organist, Margie Foley (and our equally fun and talented chancel and bell choirs). One of the highlights of the service is the pastor’s sermon. The sermon will be based on the lectionary scripture reading of the day. You will undoubtedly leave with a new perspective and a renewed sense of faith.
Let’s take a look at some of the Sunday School rooms. Sunday School begins at 9:30. Classes are available for children and youth of all ages as well as young adults and adult classes.
Pastor Paul Emily and Crystal Todd enjoy teaching the nursery class.
Younger children enjoy learning Bible stories and songs, making crafts and even learn to play bells! Dianne Emily, Leah Jennings, Barb Parrino and Sharon Franciskato lead these classes.
The Youth, led by John McKinney and Sarah Odell, learn about their faith and are active in bi-annual mission trips. The Youth Group meets every Sunday evening for a meal, devotions, and fun! Youth Group is led by Pastor Paul and Jodie Puhr.
The Young Adult class, taught by Linda Sehrt, meets in the parlor. You will hear lots of laughter and some serious discussions in their class.
The Adult Sunday School class meets at 9:30 every Sunday morning in the Lyon’s Den. This is an amazing class taught by Dan O’Neill. You will learn (a lot), laugh (even more) and meet new friends.
The worship service is generally over about 11:45, so let’s head back to the Fellowship Hall for that coffee and punch you were promised (now the door is on your left side) about half-way down the hall.
Thank you for taking the virtual tour of St. Luke’s Church. See you Sunday morning!
