There were lots of smiles on the evening of Nov. 23, 2019 when the crowd gathered for dinner and a movie at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Independence, MO! Pastor Paul started the evening off with a short synopsis of what was to come and then there was a big surprise!
No one expected these three great sisters to come serve this event!
The youth helped serve a delicious pot pie dinner followed by perfect red velvet "Tree" cupcakes.
Following dinner, the crowd gathered to watch a Christmas movie. The movie centered around a special tree that was cared for by a nun in a convent. The message of the movie will carry us through advent and into Christmas. Some thoughts from Sister Anthony to ponder:
"It's out there for all of us. A tree of sorts. You just have to find it and have the patience to let it grow."
"The star is there to remind us of the beauty when all we feel is hardness."
