St. Luke’s United Church of Christ of Independence, Missouri is soliciting resumes for the position of Director of Music. It is a permanent, part-time position starting with eight to ten hours a week which offers a salary commensurate with experience and comparable with music community standards. This position provides a vital ministry to our choirs and congregation.
A recent survey of our church family shows that music is an important part of the worship experience for our congregation. Although our history is very traditional, there is an expressed desire to investigate a more blended music program. Under our last Music Director, we enjoyed a myriad of different music experiences and wish to continue exploring additional avenues.
At this time our church has a chancel choir and bell choir. The bells consist of five octaves of bells and three octaves of hand chimes. The sanctuary has a 13 rank pipe organ. St. Luke’s has a large library of choral and bell music. The Music Director has an annual budget which can be used for music, guest musicians and other music needs. The choirs meet for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at this time.
St. Luke’s has a website where you can learn more about our church and activities. Visit us at www.stlukesuccindep.org. Resumes or questions can be forwarded to Reverend E. Paul Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org. The church Administrative Assistant is Mrs. Nanette Moore. The church phone is
